Trip Notes

Day 1 Bangkok

Take your time to arrive today, as we meet our new travelling buddies in the evening. Maybe we'll even go for dinner together! 

Day 2 Bangkok/Siem Reap

We won't waste any time and head straight over to Siem Reap. Here we'll visit a local project, and eat with a local family (time permitting)!

Day 3 Siem Reap

We have to get up early today: Angkor Wat awaits us! If you feel like it, you should definitely visit Tonle Sap floating village, and if you've got time left, the Angkor National Museum!

Day 4 Siem Reap/Phnom Penh

We'll head to the capital of Cambodia today: Phnom Penh! We'll take an orientation walk around the city, and the rest of the time is yours to spend!

Day 5 Phnom Penh

It's such an important part of history, maybe take the day to learn more about Cambodia and her past. Visit the Tuol Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields. A sobering experience for sure!

Day 6 Phnom Penh/Sihanoukville

We head to the coast today so it's time to pull out your swimsuits!

Day 7 Sihanoukville

The entire day is yours to do with as you please, so why not take a snorkelling trip on a boat? 

Day 8 Sihanoukville/Cần Thơ

We'll head to Vietnam today, and enjoy a village homestay for the evening!
Meals included: Dinner 

Day 9 Cần Thơ/Ho Chi Minh City

Definitely one for the memory bank, we'll head to the floating market today before we bring ourselves through the Mekong Delta to reach Ho Chi Minh City. We'll do a street food crawl (it's probably better than the bar crawl because food). You can choose to do a guided tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, or if you prefer, check out the War Remnants Museum.

Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City/Nha Trang

Take the day to explore a bit more of this fantastical city and we'll graba  train over to Nha Trang tonight.

Day 11 Nha Trang

We arrive early this morning, so take some time to explore the local area- shops and markets here are aplenty! There are some historical sites to feast your eyes, or maybe just chill by the beach! 

Day 12 Nha Trang/Da Nang

More free time today before we prepare to leave for Da Nang in the evening.
Meals included: Breakfast

Day 13 Da Nang/Hoi An

Today we'll find out how noodles are made at a local project site. There'll be free time in the afternoon, so maybe it's a great time to plan another street food crawl to find out about local delicacies. 

Day 14 Hoi An

If you want, take a cooking class or visit a tailor (for amazing clothes!). Otherwise, just walk around old town!

Day 15 Hoi An/Huế

Our trip continues on as we head to Hue. The royal Citadel and tombs here are quite a spectacular site, or otherwise there's always a Perfume River cruise, or even a tour of the countryside by motorbike!

Day 16 Huế/Hanoi

We have a free day here before we hop on an overnight train to Hanoi.

Day 17 Hanoi/Ha Long

Time to get your seafood on as we have a lovely lunch cruise at Halong Bay. We'll also fit in a cave visit!

Day 18 Ha Long/Hanoi

We'll take some time today to appreciate the beauty of Hanoi. Walk through the Old Quarter, and why not go check out the Temple of Literature or the Hoa Lo Prison. Otherwise, buy a trinket or two down at the Old Quarter.

Day 19 Hanoi

Today we've got a bit of free time today, but we'll get together for another amazing street food crawl! 

Day 20 Hanoi/Vientiane

We hop on a plane today to head to the capital of Laos, Vientiane. There are temples galore here, and you can't miss the golden stupa of That Luang.

Day 21 Vientiane/Vang Vieng

The gorgeous limestore karsts surround Vang Vieng will take your breath away- take it all in with a hike, bike, or swim. Or get really adventurous with some caving action!

Day 22 Vang Vieng

We've got some more free time today so get your active side on!

Day 23 Vang Vieng/Luang Prabang

This morning we'll travel from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang.
Meals included: Breakfast

Day 24 Luang Prabang

We'll get to witness the giving of the alms to the Buddhist monks, which takes giving and compassion to a whole new level. Tonight we'll visit the night market, but why not take a cooking class today? Otherwise, go cool off over at the Kuang Si Waterfalls.

Day 25 Luang Prabang/Muang Pakbèng

We'll get on a boat and head down the Mekong on a long houseboat, and we'll take part in a village homestay tonight! 
Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 26 Muang Pakbèng/Chiang Khong

We're on a boat again today to cross over into Thailand! 
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 27 Chiang Khong/Chiang Mai

We're driving to Chiang Mai today, but ont he way over, we'll go to Wat Rong Khun. Here, you can visit the Doi Suthep temple, or maybe even catch a Thai boxing match. The night market here in Chiang Mai is famous- go get some grub! 


Day 28 Chiang Mai/Bangkok

We've got some free time in Chiang Mai today before we head back to Bangkok tonight on the overnight train.  Meals included: Breakfast

Day 29 Bangkok

We are now back in the amazing city of Bangkok, so take some time to take in the sights here. Get that last souvenir you forgot to buy, or just grab one last Thai massage before heading off! 

Today is a leaving day so say goodbye to your new best friends :(  Meals included: Breakfast
Itinerary Updates

Due to repair work being done on the Ghenh railway bridge in Dong Nai, the Vietnamese government has arranged for a train from Ho Chi Minh City to Song Tham (45 minutes) followed by a bus from Song Tham to Bien Hoa (45 minutes) where you will connect with your scheduled sleeper train to Nha Trang. No activities will be affected by this change.
