DAY 1: NEW DELHI
Welcome to India- Namaste! There are no planned activities today so you can chill out and find your way around the local area. There will be a welcome meeting at 6pm at the hotel- there’ll be a note where it will take place when you check in by the lobby! Make sure you bring your insurance and next of kin deets with you for your tour leader. If you’ll be late, please of course do let us and the hotel know ASAP! There’s an optional group dinner after the meeting, a great bonding session :D
DAY 2: TRANSIT BY TRAIN DELHI – VARANASI
Woohoo! First full day! We’re going to start with a walking tour this morning around the commercial area of Delhi, visiting the famous sites of Chandni Chowk and Connaught Place. Then we’ll head to Old Delhi on a bicycle rickshaw (as you do!) to really get to the heart of the city. Tonight we’re going to get on a sleeper train to Varanasi, so get the most of Delhi in while you can! The sleeper train will take like 13 hours, and we arrive early morning tomorrow!
- Delhi - Humayun's Tomb - INR260
- Delhi - Old Delhi Walking Tour
- Delhi - Sheeshganj Gurudwara (Sikh Temple)
DAY 3: VARANASI
Like previously mentioned, we arrive well early this morning, so we’re going to head over to the hotel to freshen up before going straight into one of the world’s oldest cities. The narrow laneways and backstreets will be shown to you by our tour guide! The evening will be free for us to do as we like!
- Varanasi - Old City walking tour
DAY 4: DAY IN TRANSIT – VARANASI – AGRA
This morning we are going to experience one of the highlights of our trip! We’re going to jump into a boat and watch the sunrise over the river Ganges. India is at its most authentic right before dawn, and the river boats are the best way to see it: pilgrims bathing, riverside haircuts and cremation fires… take it all in! The day is free to explore before we head to the train station for an overnight train to Agra (this’ll take like 11 hours).
- Varanasi - Sunrise Boat Ride
DAY 5: AGRA
We arrive early this morning, and we’ll head straight for the most famous of the sites in India- the Taj Mahal! Seriously, this excitement just won’t end! We have a full day to see the best of the best of Agra on a motorised rickshaw trip, because you shouldn’t miss the optional activity of the Agra Fort in the afternoon!
- Agra - Taj Mahal
DAY 6: JAIPUR
This morning we have a four-hour bus ride to get to the pink capital of Rajasthan- Jaipur! We stop off at the pink palace (Hawa Mahal) before we get to the hotel. Freshen up and head out for a little walk around the old city. There’ll be some free time today, if you fancy doing an optional tour of the Jaipur City Palace!
DAY 7: JAIPUR
Hot Air Ballooning is actually an experience you won’t forget- it’s often one of the favourite stops for our fellow travellers! This tour is an option on this day, although only between September and June (for more info about this, please ask us!). Later in the morning, you can enjoy a guided tour of the Amber Fort. The rest of the day is free for you to explore!
- Observatory - INR220
- City Palace - INR330
- Hawa Mahal entrance
- Amber Fort
DAY 8: BUNDI
It’ll take three hours’ travel to Bundi this morning, but it certainly feels like we’re in a different world! The famed stepwells and a hilltop castle in ruins… it’s really something else! The town is small enough to be explored by foot, so don’t be afraid to get out your walking shoes! Our local guide will show you the beautiful town through his eyes (he’ll also know where to get the best cup of chai around, so make sure you ask him!)
- Bundi Palace
- Town walk
DAY 9: BUNDI
Today’s a free day of taking in Bundi- there are 50 stepwells here, and a really impressive lake, so you know… you won’t run out of things to do, surely! It’s a super friendly place, so get out there and enjoy! Tonight, we’ll catch an overnight train to Delhi (it’ll take about 10 hours).
DAY 10: NEW DELHI
We arrive into Delhi early, and the day is free to explore. You can do a spot of hsopping if you like, or you can book one of our optional tours to get a last taste of India! If you like as well, as it’s your last night, you could head over to the group dinner for a lovely end to your exciting trip!
DAY 11: NEW DELHI
Sadly our North India adventure finishes today after brekkie! You’re free to leave the accommodation at any time, although if you want to stay on in Delhi, we can help you organise additional accommodation!
