Day 1-2: Los Angeles & San Diego

Take a tour around Hollywood and get your camera at the ready as the Hollywood sign surly deserves a snap or two! Say farewell to LA and hello to the action-packed city of San Diego - what a place! Explore the famous San Diego Zoo home to 3,000 incredible animals or laze around in the grassy Balboa Park. You must top up your tan and dip your toes in the water at Mission Beach. There are lots of activities to keep you entertained here, rollerblading, cycling, or why not take a surfing lesson! Later we will head to the bustling Gaslamp Quarter and experience San Diego’s nightlife!

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 3: Lake Havasu & Colorado River

Feel the heat as we drive through the Mojave Desert. Salvation Mountain is next nature icon to be gawped at! Get your cameras out here! You may recognise it from he film ‘Into the Wild’. Follow the yellow brick road to the top of the majestic sand dunes for some awesome views. Did you know that the original London Bridge was relocated to Lake Havasu in the 1831? Shocked? Don’t believe us…?! Well you'll just have to see it to believe it and that's exactly what you'll do this afternoon. By this point you will need to relax and cool off… the refreshing Lake Havasu will be waiting for you!

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 4-5: Grand Canyon

OMG! It's Grand Canyon day! Hike from the forest above to the desert below, red rock to white powder or take an optional helicopter flight for a birds-eye view and marvel at the brilliant colours. Sunset here is out of this world!

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 6-7: Las Vegas

Today we shall travel along a section of the famous Route 66. We will stop off in Seligman, where you'll have the chance to buy some classic Americana memorabilia for your friends and family back home. Hoover Dam will be the next stop, selfies galore! We have a limousine tour organised in Vegas - How exciting! Indulge in an all-you-can-eat buffet, check out the many casinos or maybe a show! Take an optional helicopter ride to see the best of Sin City.

Accommodation: Hotels included

Day 8: Death Valley

Death Valley National Park, the hottest, driest and lowest place on earth. The mercury tips at over 130 degrees in the summer so make sure you have a bottle of water! This is a barren and geographically awesome landscape, with never-ending salt flats and a little place the locals like to call the 'Devils Golf Course'. This is a great place to grab some props and have some fun creating some great forced perspective shots. We will send the night at Bishop and you will be pleased to know it’s not quite as hot!

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 9-10: Yosemite National Park

Wow is the word for the next few days!  We will start by driving down the winding roads that look across the beautiful Sierra Nevada. You will be dying to get your hiking boots on and we make our way to the famous Yosemite National Park. There are trails for all, long ones, short ones, steep ones… The list goes on! There are waterfalls aplenty and incredible  wildlife to be spotted too namely bears and coyotes. If this isn't enough why not float down the Merced River on a rubber ring for a different perspective of this truly stunning place.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 11-12: San Francisco

Everyone falls in love with San Fran! It really does have a fantastic vibe! We will have a tour of Haight-Ashbury, home to the original hippie movement and some great boutique shops and cafes. No visit to this fine city is complete without a stroll or cycle over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Fancy testing out the local grub?  The famous clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf is a must! Check out the sea-lions chilling out at Pier 39. Included is a guided tour of Chinatown and North Beach so you can see where the beatniks hung out. If you are interested in visiting Alcatraz we recommend you book your tickets well in advance direct with Alcatraz Cruises. For this tour you should book your ticket for day 12 (1pm onwards)

Accommodation: Hostels included

Day 13: Pacific Coast

Time to hit the road Jack! Down the Pacific coastline and you are in for a treat…! The views are just stunning! Explore the ruggedness of the Big Sur region, not forgetting the must-see McWay Falls, which is an 80 foot waterfall that cascades onto a secluded beach below. Keep your eyes peeled for whales and sea-lions which can be seen rather frequently at certain time of year! We shall settle into camp and watch the Californian sunset! Beach life at its best! Enjoy!

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 14: Santa Barbara & Los Angeles

We will head down the coast today towards Los Angeles…! But not before a stop at the beautiful Santa Barbara. It’s quite a quirky place thats for sure! Miles of sandy white beaches, lovely little cafes and boutique shops. We will then head for your last beach fix at Venice Beach to watch the cool surfers, then it is sadly time to say bye to your new pals!

This tour ends at our gateway hotel at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.

My first Trek and first time travelling alone. Great group, made some good friends and our leader Kayla made sure we saw everything and made the experience even better. Saw so much much in so little a time, can't even decide what the best moment was, there were so many! If you're thinking of doing this Trek then definitely go for it.

Absolutely Amazing!

Jasmine, June 2015

I knew this was going to be good, but it certainly surpassed expectations.
Our tour leader was lovely and always enthusiastic, with good knowledge of the areas we visited and also scheduled some surprises such as going to a baseball game and relaxing in some Californian hot springs!
The group I was with were all very nice and we clicked quickly. You felt like you could do your own thing as well as go off with different people depending on what everyone wanted to do.
We were lucky with beautiful weather nearly every day and despite having never camped before, I loved it! The tents were really easy to put up and we had some delicious food round the campfire. The camp facilities were also good; some better than others but we always had access to good showers and toilets and most had wifi and even places to charge devices.
It went by so quick but I couldnt have had a better time!

A lot of fun!

Cathy, March 2015

Was an awesome trip! Saw a lot of beautiful places in west coast and got to meet new people. Our tour guide, Jeremy, took good care of us and we had so much fun with him!

Saw so much in 2 weeks!
