Kangaroo Island is a special place off the beaten track. If you’re on a budget and want to go to places that not many other people visit then this 2 day Kangaroo Island tour is for you. You’ll get to know everyone else on the tour really well as we travel in small groups on a mid-sized coach. It’s fun but you’ll learn a lot as well.
One of the most popular parts of this Kangaroo Island Tour is a guided walk on the beach with sea lions at Seal Bay. It’s a conservation area and you’ll be very close to the seals who are found right on the beach. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a photographer The Remarkable Rocks provides stunning sea views and great photo opportunities.
After 2 days you’ll wave goodbye to Kangaroo Island as you’re on the ferry back to Adelaide, with plenty of photos, memories and probably a few new friends too!

2 Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Adelaide to Kangaroo Island
It’s a scenic drive to Cape Jervis where we board the SeaLink ferry across Backstairs Passage (45 minute trip) to Penneshaw.
It’s not far to one of the Island’s stunning surf beaches at Pennington Bay and then we visit the only commercial eucalyptus distillery in South Australia at Emu Ridge. Get amongst sea lions in their natural habitat on our guided walk at Seal Bay – an experience you won’t forget! Scramble up the white sand hills at Little Sahara and get up close to more wildlife (including koalas) at the Hanson Bay Koala Sanctuary.
Tonight we stay at the Vivonne Bay Lodge, situated on 260 acres of bushland with a kilometre of beachfront. Free activities include self-guided kayaking, mountain bike riding, bush walking and boogie boarding; snorkelling, eight-ball, table tennis and swimming.
After dinner, we’ll spot for kangaroos, wallabies and possums.
Day 2 – Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
We spend the morning in Flinders Chase National Park where you can clamber on the huge granite outcrops of Remarkable Rocks and see the New Zealand fur seals who reside at Admiral’s Arch. We’ll have lunch at Rocky River Headquarters, where you have time to check out the Information Centre which is the start point for the Snake Lagoon and Platypus Walks (seasonal choice).
After lunch, we travel to the North Coast, visiting Stokes Bay, where a rock tunnel leads to an idyllic and ‘secret’ beach (seasonal). We then return to Penneshaw, with time to purchase dinner (own expense) before returning to the mainland and Adelaide.
